To Whom It May Concern:

The Chicago Wrestling Coaches Association exists for the purpose of re-establishing the pride and excellence that once belonged to Chicago’s Public League wrestling programs.  We are excited about the progress of the association in the past few years.  Here are just a few of the highlights:

• Successful lobby of CPS Teachers Union, maintaining potential for 3 coaches
• CPS Frosh-Soph wrestling has increased by 90% in the last 3 years
• Collaboration with CPD to include wrestling at the annual Mayor Daley’s Sports Fest
• 14 summer camp scholarships awarded
• New annual awards established: All-Academic Team, Outstanding Wrestler and Administrator, Friend & Coach of the Year

We are proud of these accomplishments yet realize that there is much more to accomplish.

2009-2010 member dues are set at $35 per coach or $60 for an entire coaching staff.  A late fee of $5 will be added to any dues paid after November 26, 2009 (Thanksgiving).  Please make checks payable to CWCA.  Dues will be collected at the following events:

• Oct. 6                        CPS Coaches Meeting & CWCA member meeting
• Nov. 6                        CWCA Coaches Clinic

Or they can be mailed to CWCA Treasurer, Craig MacFarland (Mather H.S. 5835 N. Lincoln Ave. 60659)

The CWCA anticipates the coming year to bring more positive developments for public league wrestling.  We are networking with World Sport Chicago in our fall coaches’ clinic.  Mayor Daley’s Holiday Sports Fest will include CPD & CPS wresting programs again.  A coaches mentoring program is also being developed to see that our city kids receive the best coaching possible.
