CWCA Goals 2009-2010
The following
3-5 year plans were discussed at the April 22, 2008 Annual Planning Meeting
Marketing - Continue to utilize CWCA website as primary portal of Public League information
- Compile past Public League Champions for use on website &
event programs
- Network “Wrestlers & Teams to Watch” with media outlets (i.e. Chicago Tribune, Sun Times & Illinoismatmen.com)
- Promote sport to Principals
& Athletic Directors
City Tournament - Establish consistency
in format & location
Officials - Establish &
utilize system of rating city officials
- Develop contracts to help prevent cancellations
- Communicate officials directory
Clinic - Network
with World Sport Chicago’s Olympian network to bring in world-class clinicians
- Include coaching workshops in CPS staff development days
Banquet - Establish awards for CPD, CCC & CPS elementary wrestling programs
- Include, communicate &
promote to Friends of Public League wrestling
City Colleges - Establish annual
“Wayne Watson Cup” to be awarded to top CCC team
- Open communication lines between CCC coaches & CPS programs
- Network for Tournaments
& dual meets

Park District (CPD) - 3 regional Summer camps networked with World Sport Chicago
- Wrestling Instructors library

- Assisting in another quality-run CPS High School City Championships
- Over 100% increase in CPS
frosh/soph participation -4 consecutive years
- 258 CPS Frosh/Soph
- 362 CPS Varsity
- Successful networking with World Sport Chicago
- Fall Coaches Clinic featured 2008 Olympic Coach Lee Kemp
- Spring Banquet featured guest speaker, Bobby Douglas, Olympian and 2000

- Participation in spring International Olympic Committee visit to Chicago
